The keyboard is actually quite loud, If you can put some extremely thin stick pads, it will reduce the typing noise. I'm happy since the original had 5 bad keys. $59 original part vs $13. I'd give up the backlite anyday. Remember to reuse the plastic clip on the old cable. Maybe the plasticy feel will subside with use, when the high polish wears down? A nice Keyboard and very close to the original.
