You can set a goal weight and the LEDs will indicate when you have added the correct amount of food, however, you cannot program the feeder to stop opening after a certain amount of food has been consumed **Q: Can this work without wifi? I only have a hot spot.** A: I just set mine up to scan my pet's microchip (using a button on the back) and didn't have to connect it a hub or app to do this. Therefore, if that's all you need you should be able to use it without wifi. **Q: I need to purchase 3 feeders. Does each feeder need a separate hub?** A: No. I have 3 and it works great. **Q: can this work with any smart hub or do you need their fancy hub with stupid cat ears?** A: I actually looked into this one and found the answers by looking at the FCC filings for the chip they used (there is no filing for the hub itself, just the chip). They are using 2.4ghz (same bands as wifi), 802.15.4, and Zigbee 2 (like some of your other hubs). But here's the rub- they're not using any of the Zigbee profiles but rather a custom one known as MiWi.
