It is a healthy shiny which already matches my daughters hair, if you like it less shinny dust it with a little baby power. I have straightened it with a flat iron (only to see if it would burn) and it did just fine. If you spray it with any flat iron heat protector it will prevent it from tangling, it tangles about the same as real hair. When you brush it don't pull it, brush gently from the bottom up and brush on a flat surface. When you are not using it just put it in your closet on a shelve, weight the clip part down with a book or something and let the tresses dangle down that way they won't crimp up. Wash with normal shampoo only when needed. let air dry. Buy a second piece as a back up or for fuller hair. Recommendations: If you have short hair and want your hair to look longer then buy and use 2 (trim accordingly), if you have shoulder length hair and want it to look a bit longer and fuller but 1 and trim accordingly. This was bought for my 14 year old daughter, the majority of her friends dye/fry their hair so this is a cool and healthy alternative. She has black hair and it is long (middle of her back) so this piece makes her hair look like she has added highlights to her hair, very cool indeed. As a result mommy (me) has ordered one for me (a dark one to match my hair). I've had them for a couple of weeks. Oh did I mention the fast shipping? I'm in the US and it took about 2 weeks to get here. They are shiny and it doesn't really blend with my hair. I tried using baby powder but it didn't do any good and turned the extensions gray. Maybe its just with black extensions that baby powder doesn't work with. I dont think I'll be wearing them out to public since my hairs a little thicker than these and they're too shiny. If anyones wondering, I did try to curl these with VERY low heat and they did curl but you need to curl in tiny tiny sections, so that's the problem with curling them. You'd literally spend hours curling every piece. I tried washing them but the curls stayed..i guess you'd need to straighten them back if you want it straight again. Did I mention they shed a lot? Every time I ran my fingers through them they would shed hairballs out..they do tangle but not as much as they shed. That's another problem with wearing them out..they shed too much. Thank you! Even though it is just one piece, it is gorgeous. My hair is so thin that I would like at least one more for it to look realistic and I will probably put some layers in it to make it blend better. You can obviously see where my hair stops. BUT the hair looks exactly like the picture. Perfect #613 blonde. It was packaged great, no dent in the hair. FAST shipping (I also paid for fast shipping) but it was worth it, I got it in like 3 days. Sellers communicate well. I am glad I bought it and would definitely buy more. As for the other reviews on here, yes it tangles it is 23" of hair...of course it tangles. Don't headbang or go crazy shaking your head and you can just brush it right out. I have brushed it 3x and no hair has fallen out. I am delicate with it...I don't brush it like I am beating it to death. I wear wigs & hair pieces...&& for the price I paid, this piece is fantastic.
