First the infected part came off. The new nail growing in looks to be clear. I figure I have another 6 months for the nail to completely grow out and see if the fugus is truely gone. So, so far, so good. I'll hit here again in 4 months or so with progress. BTW, I've tried a prescrition toenail polish for several years - very little effect. I tried Vick's - nothing. I tried tea tree oil - absolutely no effect. Kerasal - an almost immediate effect. Within the week my toenail looked different. At about 2 months the infect part on the side of the nail fell off.
