The act of sweating releases toxins through your skin pores so it's not healthy to impede that process. This product supports that natural process by not containing any anti-perspirant chemicals. Although it's labeled as unscented, science will tell you that everything in the world has a scent (even water) and this product has a very minimal wisp of a scent that's nearly imperceptible. Manufacturer's usually refer to this as a 'masking scent' so you don't notice the smell of chemicals in a product. However, this product has minimal chemicals (that's why I chose it) so there's not much to cover up and that's a good thing! Neither I, nor anyone else that I've asked, can detect a fragrance. The ONLY time I can smell anything is when I apply it to my underarms, so the product is obviously in closer proximity to my nose. As I glide it across my skin a faint scent of a Lifesaver's pineapple flavor candy takes me immediately back to my happy childhood memories. It lasts for a few seconds and then it's gone. Could just be me but every time I use this I end up with a smile on my face. 😊 I think this happens because your underarm skin is warm so the deodorant also warms and the solidified coconut oil melts a bit as you apply it, which releases the barely-there scent.
