Had to negotiate a freezing puddle about 4 inches deep for 20-30 yards and I could hear my boots mocking the attempt at the puddle to wet my socks. Bone dry, so sturdy, extremely comfy (would wear them as slippers except I can't afford to get divorced) and a really thick strong sole. Great buy. Took these boots out for their first hike without having to ' break them in' they are extremely comfortable, great support on the sole and heel and superb grip. I always keep my boots waxed and clean them and re wax especially after a wet muddy hike.. which is normal this time of the year in The Dark Peak District. I've worn them in the rain many times without a problem. Mind you, I wouldn't submerge them fully in water. They are very nice, comfortable and warm boots. Highly recommend!! **Q: Do these boots suit wide feet with high arches?** A: I myself have wide feet and high arches. I did purchase I size higher than normal and my boots fitted like a glove. I’ve had them about 9 months and wear them daily walking my three dogs every morning mainly over farm land.
