I find that if I try to take it out right away the rice has extra moisture on it and sticks to the pot and if it is still warming it will start to burn the rice so unplugging it is best. I do rise the rice once before putting it in just to rinse off any residue. For jasmine rice 1 1/4 cup water for 1 cup of rice, for brown rice 2 1/4 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. **Q: How big is the vegetable tray inside? Can I fit a small bag of baby carrots inside?** A: The vegetable tray is 6.5" diameter and 1.75" deep.
