It should be apparent that the red and blue light option is going to actually do NOTHING for your face. So if you are buying it for that function, don't.I'll give this five stars because it's workable with the price. As a consumer, who votes with her dollar, sometimes I have to chose the cheaper option. BUT, I have learned how to make it work, and this last longer.First off, soak all of this heads in slightly boiling water. Make a pot of water, set it to boil, and when you see steam, take it off the boiler. Add some ice. Then place the heads bristle down, and leave for maybe 3 seconds at a time.They will soften very quickly. From that, add a tiny bit of your natural lotion into it, and let it set over night.From there, you are good to go. Repeat this every month or so to clean you heads.This handheld works great for the price. I use this in the shower, and I set it brush side down to dry.
