It is lampshade. The Bulbs is not included. **Q: Does this include the light cord and socket, or is it the lamp shade only?** A: It comes with a light socket and hanging cord but the end of the cord is just loose electrical wires so it can be wired into your ceiling. Also includes a round cover/plate to to mount over the wires to the ceiling. **Q: Is the top mounting piece & pole (for cord) white or brown? What color is it? The pictures show both. thank you** A: Mine is white **Q: will this work on a slanted ceiling?** A: The cord is flexible and is not rigid. I have two other lamps similar to this lamp from IKEA so I wasn’t worried when I saw the reviews about how difficult it was to put together.The lamp is similar to my IKEA lamps but made with slightly thinner plastic material, is about half the size, and doesn’t come with instructions. Other than that once it’s put together and hung up it’s perfect!Tips for construction: View the tutorial videos for similar IKEA lamp construction and start from the bottom of the lamp and work your way up. This is my third lamp that I have put together and I timed it for this review. I put it together almost half way through incorrectly and had to start over.
