Both using direct heat on high with the lid closed ?** A: The sear station raises the temperature about 200 degrees sealing in the juices. I cook 2 minutes on each side and move off of the high temperature for 5 minutes on a side for medium rare delicious steak in 14 minutes. A much better flavor than without the sear station **Q: What size female connector do I need to accept this grill's male gas line? Also, what size NG supply line do y'all have running to it?** A: You need a standard 1/2" natural gas line AND a quick connecter (NOT INCLUDED). This isn't obvious, so I hope the professional installer brings the right parts !! I have to hunt down the manual on the Weber web site, and it doesn't say what parts to buy. It only suggests you get a professional (? What, a plumber ?) to install the gas valve connector. This is very strange, because Weber is a premium brand and makes excellent grills. Weber shows the connector on pages 7-8.
