It over hangs the edge of the pool has cords to secure it. But we used clamps on each section of our pool as well. This has withstood mayor wind storms and is still in perfect condition. Intake the cover on and off everyday for swimming and back to keep out the dust as we live in the desert.The material seemed thin when it arrived but it is very durable and super easy to use.
