In addition to the expanded version of Aeroplane s original 5 discs, a 6th disc contains live recordings from the 1996 Mellon Collie tour, while the DVD content is taken from a July, 4 1997, performance in Belfort, France. Included is a 46-page book with liner notes written by David Wild, plus extensive track-by-track notes by The Smashing Pumpkins founder-singer-songwriter-guitarist Billy Corgan for the original releases 33 tracks. This period of time in the pumpkins history was unbeleivably rich with great songs and when you think of the size of the melon colie album itsself with all the b sides on the singles and all the extra never released tracks it is mind bending to think that four people came up with so many great riffs and songs over a few years. This is a must buy for any fan but i at the price is worth mining for the casual pumpkins listener as well. The price is reasonalble to say the least! almost £50 cheaper than iTunes. Love it! There's early demos and alternate versions of Mellon Collie tracks and the b sides. There's even a few unfinished unreleased tunes that sound amazing. You can almost hear the classic pumpkins tracks they never became.
