I started with a Creek OBH-8 transistor unit, followed by a ASL MG Head MK3 ( tube ), Perreaux SHX-1 Class A (transistor), Cayin HA-1 (tube ), and now the Woo Audio WA6. I find the WA6 offers the best combination of excellent sonics, versatility, and quality construction vs the amps I had before it. I use it with Denon AH-D7000 ( low impedance ) and Sennheiser HD600 ( high impedance ) headphones. The WA6 has a switch for low and high impedance phones and drives both these headphones with smooth frequency response. I am using vintage tubes and HIGHLY suggest you get rid of the cheap Chinese tubes that it ships with. I also decided to buy the optional 6SN7 socket adapters from Woo as I love the sound of these tubes and the large variety still available. My favorite 6SN7 is the Ken-Rad. I use a Mullard GZ32 rectifier. Sound reproduction out of the WA6 with these tubes is warm, solid, with a huge soundstage, The WA 6 manages to offer much of the dynamics found in solid state amps and the warmth and smooth natural presentation of vacuum tubes combined.
