Hemastix Reagent Strips for Urinalysis, Tests for Blood in Urine - 50 ea

Don't recall instructions specifying ( uniformed layman) the yellow tab at end of stick was the primary sensor- but, it became more obvious as the side of bottle gave examples of urine reactions, or, lack of reactions, on a yellow backgkround.There are two ways to get a sample of urine onto the small test strip, per instructions. For men, the easiest way is a ground to air shot ( hopefully,with accuracy). I believe theTest strip produced accurate results. One hour after my use of a test strip the result was confirmed by another test at the Doctor's office.

Product is easy to use; basically just dip, wait "exactly" 60 seconds and then compare the strip reagent pad to the chart on the container. There was usually no doubt as to which part of the chart matched the reagent pad. I've used dip and match products before (not for urinalysis, though) and often found that it was near impossible to determine the correct match -- that wasn't the case with this product.As far as I could tell, the test seems sufficiently sensitive and accurate. But, I had no way to directly verify results with any other lab tests so I don't know for sure about that.As the instructions indicate that it is "IMPORTANT" to store the product at temperatures between 59-86 degrees Fahrenheit, I was somewhat concerned that the product remained in my outside mailbox during below freezing temperatures for a few hours. I don't know if the temperature storage requirements really mean usage temperature or if the product could be permanently damaged by being in temperatures outside the stated range for some period of time. That may be something to consider if you're in similar situation. I couldn't find any additional information on the product at the manufacturer's website that was printed on the product carton, [...][...]

The results are very accurate, With that I could control the blood level of my little dog, due the results I took her to the hospital and they scan her bladder and found huge stones. She was operated and is full recovered.

I wish there had been some informtion on the web site mentioning that if you are taking iron supplements, these test strips will give a false positive. Otherwise, they work as promised and were delivered promptly.

For anyone with kidney stone problems or urinary tract issues, this product can give you a head's up before making an appointment, seeing and paying for the doctor and this test,which is a no brainer. Take command of your own body!

Unfortunately they are very accurate.....They proved that I needed further medical attention. I suppose that is the idea and a good thing!

These strips are being used to detect traces of blood in the urine caused by kidney stones. By using the strips, I know when the blood level is too high and when to phone the doctor. The ordering and delivery were seemless. Great service!
