We were really unsure about this type of product, we considered it a lot before buying but the heavily reduced price swung it for us. It works. I cannot tell if it needs a charge because there is no indicator so its a little inconvenient, but for £15 it really is worth a try because the cat deterrent spray costs me £5 and it takes a full bottle to cover the lawn and only lasts a few days if it doesn't rain!
