I use it to take a large smoothie to work. I work 12 hour night shifts and often do not feel like eating a meal, but a smoothie is nice to drink throughout the night. This growler keeps my smoothie the same ice cold and slushy consistency as when I poured it in the growler. My coworkers are always impressed with how slushy my smoothie is even at 4 in the morning. I have not had problems with the top popping open. I do use the Velcro strap that come with it since i’m often putting it in my bag at work, I don’t want the top to pop open while it is in my bag. It is very easy to clean. I use a bottle brush to clean it with soap and water. I then pour really hot water into the growler and then dump the water out, so the remaining water will evaporates out. I have not had any problems with mold growing in it, but I try to prevent it by keeping the inside dry when i’m not using it at work.I love how seamlessly the handle is attached the the bottle it’s self. It feels very sturdy.Overall very pleased with my growler!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent all around choice for water and transporting liquids *by T***N on August 27, 2018* This growler is awesome. I didn't buy it for beer, but for water. I destroy water bottles and made the decision to switch to stainless steel cups and a jug of water. I chose this specific growler for several reasons:1) 64 oz - this is about the amount of water I consume within 8 hours, which means it was perfect for me to take to work.2) Handle - I'm not a big woman and I have tiny hands. Attempting to pour from a huge jug without a handle wouldn't end well, so I needed a firm handle. This growler has one.3) Leak proof - I'm not sure they advertise it as such, but the firm seal on the lid has prevented any leaks so far.4) Carrying strap - this strap was a bonus; it comes with a strong velcro strap that you can use to carry or transport the growler.5) Insulating - if I bring cold water to work, I want it to stay cold. Nothing tepid and lukewarm for me, thank you.The growler fulfills all of my expectations and even exceeded them. I love it and am pleased with my purchase. No more dead, leaking, or moldy-despite-all-efforts water bottles that were constantly making me sick. ### ⭐⭐⭐ I'm not impressed *by S***K on January 24, 2019* I wanted to love this growler, but I just couldn't. I originally planned to get it as a gift. When I got it, it just looked a little cheap to me. Not the most consistent brushed finish and it had a few tiny dents. Not terrible, but not gift quality I was hoping for. I got the bare stainless, so perhaps I should have gotten the black one. Anyway, I did not gift it but kept it for myself since I have been wanting a growler for my homebrew. I'm not thrilled with it. I ended up buying a DrinkTanks growler. I did a lot of informal comparisons and the Yukon growler clearly did not insulate as well. Filling with hot or cold liquid, the sides warm or cool quite a bit within minutes. Not just in the neck area, but even at the bottom. This costs you a few degrees loss per hour compared to less than 1 degree change on the DrinkTank. Not thrilled with the bail lock either. It seals tightly but the bail travel is such that it stops right at the teetering point for lack of a better word. A bump with a couple of pounds of force could cause it to spring open. I don't see it as an everyday problem, but I think there is some concern because they include a velcro strap for extra bail security. The trouble is, the strap is elastic, so its not really going to do much, it will just stretch if that unfortunate bump hits the bail. A string or shoelace would work better. Anyway, the bail and the finish issues are just for your information.
