Second, anything not straight off the main grid or a generator is a modified sine. There are better and worse, but if you're going DC to AC, it's modified sine. Which is it?** A: The unit that I received has 2 110v outlets and 2 usb ports. The unit was used on a recent trip to Texas and worked flawlessly. **Q: Will this drain the car battery and does the car need to be running to use this?** A: It depends. If you have an ICE car with an internal combustion engine and a small "starter/ignition" battery, you won't want to run anything more than a few hours, maybe less if your battery is older or you've run it to dead a couple of times already.
