As a diabetic, I use it predominantly to carry my insulin around. I need something small which I don't mind wearing all the time and taking with me into the shower room. I also don't want something which looks expensive. My every day carry on the pilgrimage will be a smartphone, passport and wallet. This cross chest pouch fits the bill. Being an XL size person I was concerned that the strap wouldn't be big enough to go around my torso but it is plenty big enough. I also like the fact that the strap is not padded as I don't want additional weight or bulk. I noticed a review saying that the bag is not waterproof. No problem for me as i put everything in plastic bags anyhow.
