The slicker brush works very well too, but we are talking masses of hair tying itself into knots constantly. All pieces are well made and easy to use. The grooming rake removes unbelievable amounts of hair and leaves my girl's hair shiny. I try to be gentle but firm and these tools make it possible for my pup to tolerate grooming happily. I do give frequent kibble for treats and lots of praise, but the efficiency of these grooming tools help immensely. I recommend them and I think they are a great value.
