If you do plan to read it, know that it's densely packed with information, and not an introductory style light read. Espresso from Bean to Cup, The Complete Guide to Expresso, Cappuccino, Latte and Coffee Is a great introductory option (for almost no money) as an introduction to espresso - it touches on other coffee and beans some. Although a bit dated, it is full of useful information. Another option is Kenneth David's book: Coffee: A Guide to Buying, Brewing, and Enjoying I haven't spent much time with the Blue Bottle coffee book, but it is a bit more modern, and addresses all types of coffee, and comes highly recommended. Review: Great all around coffee reference - I am new to brewing and grinding my own custom coffee and that's why I bought this excellent book. There is a LOT of great information about all the different kinds of coffee, on a world round basis. I doubt I will even be able to get a handle on all of them, but it's very nice to have a reference that I can go to when friends make suggestions. It has the right balance between factual information, pictures and maps. The title is slightly misleading. Only half of the book is dedicated to worldwide coffee production map locations. The other half is dedicated to general information on coffee bean types, coffee making, coffee machines and coffee terminology. I gave this book five stars because it is the best book on the subject I could find.
