## Description

Instead of time with this 1000 watt food dehydrator with dried fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers. Top mounted to eliminate fluid dripping in the fan heater chamber. New digital time can be programmed for up to 48 hours. You expand up to 20 trays that dry everything in a large amount. Drying pressure automatically adjusts to the number of trays. Patented Collected Flow Military under external pressure chambers, heated air transfers horizontally across individual trays at the core for fast, nutritious drying. No flavor mixing, no need to rotate the tray. 2,400 RPM fan motor is 4 times faster than a dryer without a fan or motor. The unit's adjustable thermostat provides the necessary flexibility to ensure excellent results with a range of 90 degrees to 160°F. The vitamin storage exterior blocks have a opaque appearance to hold many of the nutrients and vitamins in the food during the drying process. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: How loud does the machine run?**
A: We have a decibel reader, it was at 72 decibels.  I was talking loud apparently at 70.  A vacuum cleaner is at 80.  So somewhere between your loud aunt and a vacuum cleaner.  We had it on our kitchen counter, it reminded me of a white noise maker.

**Q: What is the model number for extra trays, screens and fruit roll trays?**
A: I have the Nesco FD-1040 and purchased Nesco TR-2 add-a-tray and Nesco SLD-2-6 fruit rollup trays on Amazon.  They look and fit like the ones delivered with the unit.  I went to the Nesco web site to purchase the herb drying screens and to verify the fit of trays I bought on Amazon.

**Q: Is this BPA free?**
A: According to the NESCO website, any plastics that will touch food are BPA free. That's all I know.

**Q: is it made in the usa?**
A: The box is labeled made in the USA but the sticker also says “of US and global components”. When you take the top out of the inner box the underneath side says made in China (very hard to see but it’s there)
