They keep my feet dry as long as water runs off of them and they don't sit in water for too long (more than a few minutes) AND I haven't worn them for too long (more than a couple hours), after which my feet get sweaty and the socks absorb the sweat. That said, even if they do sit in water for a bit and my feet get sweaty they don't feel as swampy as regular socks do. They are thick from all the layers so only really usable in mild to cold weather. Comfortable and snug for women's size 8.
