I used the replacement knife and it does work better than the first one I had. It’s still a fine line between “hot enough” and “too hot”, but it does the job. I prefer to use a honey planer I borrowed from a friend, but this knife is more affordable and a good second option.Edit: updating from one star to three because the company reached out to send me a replacement knife. I haven’t had the chance to test it yet, won’t be harvesting honey for a few more weeks, but I appreciate the customer service. Will update agai after testing the replacement knife.Original review: The first time using this, the dial didn't seem to work. Turned it to the the right and waited and waited and waited and nothing... turned it further (repeat) and further (repeat) and further (repeat). Ended up turning the dial all the way around clockwise until it made a full rotation and was back on the left. Then that thing heated up like crazy, there didn't seem to be any happy medium. Either nothing or burning the honey. Super disappointed. I would rather not scorch honey or wax trying to figure this out. Now we are past the return window. There's a wire coming out of the thermostat control. I'm having a difficult time getting in touch with the Seller.
