Doesn't work with Mac OS X
Even with the Mac driver installed, this didn't work. I would have expected it to do so.

Great looking product, but it did not work as described a FTDDI USB RS232 cable
Great service by the vendor and amazon. Credit on the way which is a problem with other online sales companies. Wasted lots of time trying to see why it didn't work. Yes, we do have a driver.

type c: doesn't work with mac
I tried the "type c" version of this adapter since my macbook pro and macbook air only have type C ports. First one neither machine recognized it (doesn't even show up in USB devices list when issuing system_profiler SPUSBDataType). Sent back for replacement - same problem with replacement. Two different computers and the device isn't negotiating a connection with the computer at all. Unsure what the issue is - but if you have a usb-c mac you should avoid this cable.
