Other reviewers complained about it sinking but if you don't let the edge touch the water it won't. In other words as you remove it or cover the pool fold it over on itself. It won't sink. The jury is still out on the durability since I have only had it a short time, however if it is UV resistant as advertised it should last quite a while. The cable system, while lightweight, does the job. We live in Florida so we don't use it as a winter cover. We remove and cover the pool with each use. The cable has kept the cover on during some pretty strong storms.Update after 6 months. Apparently this cover is not very UV resistant. It is not deteriorating however it must be developing microscopic cracks. Water is migrating from below to the top of the cover. It was beginning to sink into the pool. Came up with an easy solution though. I purchased the "bubble wrap" style solar cover. After putting this on the pool and the cover on top of that everything is fine. I just wonder if I had invested the total spent initially I could have had a better cover in the first place.Update after 11 months. The cover has now deteriorated to the point that there are several baseball size holes in it. Did not even last the full year that it is warranted. Will now check on how to file a claim for a replacement. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great affordable cover *by T***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2013* I bought this cover because the cover that came with my 15' pool was too small and would never stay on and fall into the pool. To compensate I bought this 18' cover hoping that it would have enough to cover the pool with enough overhang to stay on well. Sure enough there is overhang and then some, it almost touches the ground all around the pool. I should have gotten the 15' version of this for my 15' pool, but it's better to have too much than not enough. I love the wire cord draw string with the ratchet winch, it really tightens down to make sure that the cover will never come off. The only kind of bad think I could say is that the cover itself does feel a little thin and seems like it could tear if it caught on something. The material is comparable to a lower end utility tarp. I would still recommend this to anyone, just be cautious when pulling on the cover. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best one we have purchased *by B***K on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2013* This thing is great. We have purchased other types in the past and they all failed. This thing has been through a wind storm, rain storm, snow storm and a ice storm and so far this season it has held perfectly. So glad we purchased it. I will admit at first we did have a problem but how we corrected it was we put the tarp on then where the tension wire is pulled tight against the poles we tucked the tarp under it and it has not budged at all. The last few years we fought the pool cover almost everyday keeping it on till summer. This thing is great. About once a month if needed my husband siphones the water off the top of the tarp and checks to make sure the tarp is holding.
