The suspenders are longer to fit a man over 6 foot tall. The fasteners are metal clips that are durable and do not come loose and less you take them loo 6 foot tall. The swivel hooks are way better than the usual clips. Far more secure, no more worrying about them popping off.They look great, and fit me easily (I'm 6'7", so that means a lot!), so I'm immediately ordering another pair in brown (the first was black) so I have a set for every outfit
