## Description

1- General description Can be pasted. NTAG216 has been developed by NXP Semiconductors as standard NFC tag ICs to be used in mass market applications such as retail, gaming and consumer electronics. 2- Memory 888 bytes user programmable read/write memory. 3-Communication & Connectivity Communication to NTAG216 can be established only when the tag is positioned in the RF field (about 1cm from the NFC device/phone), the high speed RF communication interface allows the transmission of the data (read/write). Energy and data are transferred via an antenna consisting of a coil with a few turns which is directly connected to NTAG216. No further external components are necessary. 4- Security (can be protected by password) 32-bit password protection to prevent unauthorized memory operations. Manufacturer programmed 7-byte UID for each device. Field programmable read-only locking function 5- Compatibility NTAG216 provides full compliance to the NFC Forum Tag 2 Type technical specification and designed to work with all NFC devices or NFC compliant Proximity Coupling Devices). 6-Applications Smart advertisement Goods and device authentication Call request SMS Call to action Voucher and coupons Bluetooth or Wi-Fi pairing Connection handover Product authentication Mobile companion tags Electronic shelf labels Business cards 7- Limitation iPhone: NFC readers in iPhone devices do NOT support any type of NFC tags yet. Review: Works great, both iPhone and Android (must program from Android though!) - This product works as advertised. I purchased for a work experiment, which was quite successful. These NFC tags MUST BE PROGRAMMED before they'll do anything, and unfortunately there's no way I know of to program from an iPhone. If you have a recent Android device that is NFC enabled (such as a Pixel 2), you can program easily from Android. My iPhone XS Max can read the tags once they're programmed. I recommend the NXP TagInfo app on iOS, and the counterpart app on Android can program as well as read. If you're looking for lock-screen reading from iPhone, you'll have to use a XS, XS Max, or possibly a XR (not sure about the last one) Otherwise you'll have to read in an app with an active in-app NFC session, which I believe is limited to iPhone 7 and later models. Lock screen reading works out of box on Android. To get lock-screen reading to work on an iPhone, you'll need your tag to be programmed with a TNF of "NFC Well Known" and a type of "U". To get this program a tag with a url with a protocol of https://, and make sure it's not https://www. (or else it will be type SP)

**Q: what app do these work with?**
A: Hello, on iPhone for reading, if tag is formated every app can be used. To format, i use ACR 1255U-J1 Bluetooth. With this module, and IOS 11, it is possible to read or writte these tags from IPhone 5S and later. Marie-Laure

**Q: Can these be wrapped around something like a small pill bottle, or do they need to be kept flat?**
A: Just keep the loops inside the label unwrinkled.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the actual chip?**
A: Both length and width are 25MM

**Q: do these need some sort of power on the stickers end for use?**
A: Don't need it, use it directly

This product works as advertised. I purchased for a work experiment, which was quite successful.
