Review: Fantastic monitor for the price - This monitor is really something special. I haven’t had a monitor with such good color and it even looks good at a low ppi. (Compared to 4K). 2k imo is really the best res. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is that when hdr works, it’s amazing . Pc - perfect , ps4 - perfect , Xbox one x - doesn’t work at all. From all my research and what crappy help I’ve been given from both Microsoft and hp , I’ve come to realize that the Xbox one x only outputs HDR IF “allow 4K” is selected . So even though this is a 1440p monitor it does not support a 4K signal (like the chg70. They had to get a firmware update for that ) Even though I don’t have hdr on my xbox (which is why I got this monitor in the first place ) the picture quality is astounding. Really incredible . I was just disappointed that hdr was not available for my Xbox . Even though it lets me select it . Please HP OR MICROSOFT : firmware update / 1440p hdr fix please. Pretty please.
Review: Practical Purist - I am a purist, I want to have the highest color accuracy, the best headphones, the best source for content. None of that is really possible, though. Even when you get crazy high bitrates, crazy good headphones, and crazy good screens, there's always interpretation to be had. It's the same that goes for everything, even in real life. Ambient lighting, the manufacturing, light bending, literal science beyond knowing (things like how photons, materials, atoms, receptors in your eyes, etc.) occurs that disrupts consuming things in a "pure" format. I try to reach the stars the best that I can, but I do so with the thought of being practical as well. Does something cost too much for what you're getting out of it, does it reflect what the artist intended while consuming a certain form of art, and does it give me an enjoyable experience, especially compared to technology of yesterday? This monitor easily checks all of these boxes. Just as audiophiles have their quirks, screen purists have theirs. When you attempt to look up the definition of HDR you'll find that there's a standard form of understanding of what HDR is and what it takes to produce an HDR picture, but there's so many things involved (from manufacturing techniques/materials and panel color depth to physical output and static contrast) that no one knows specifically what creates an amazing picture. People artificially create ideas about what things should or should not be because of how it fits with their per-conceived notions, and this occurs in every sense of reality for humans. It doesn't matter if you're an engineer or a retail worker, sure there's can be a large difference in knowledge-base and trained-processing that does affect understanding, but everyone is a person and there's no absolute form of anything. This is a long and complicated way of saying something that I really want people to understand, and not just for this monitor. Everything is not absolute, always assume that you can be wrong and that there's something to learn. Never assume that people are correct, even if they're reliable professionals. tl;dr: This monitor is really good, my brother and I accidentally ordered the HP 3LN53AA#ABA 32" Pavilion Display (a very similar display from the same age) and I have a 4K IPS Samsung that has high color accuracy in the RGB space (it's a few years old, though), and this monitor knocks the socks off of them. This monitor is easily worth the price. I got it for $272 off of Woot! and $380 off of desertcart. My brother and I keep switching games (some not even HDR-complient) and it makes things a crazy amount more vivid. Things like World of Warcraft where writing just looked like orange runes on my previous monitors were actually glowing with this monitor. Bronze statues turned from orange to shining objects. I can't give this monitor enough praise. Whoever says that HDR 600 is a gimmick and that this monitor is not good for gaming or content creation, don't listen to them. This monitor is incredible. If you want a DCI P3 color-accurate monitor, you're obviously not going to be looking for this (although this covers 95% of that space), you're most likely going to get this for the HDR experience in a crazy affordable package (monitors of this standing cost waaaaaay more, I've been using many methods to find similar monitors at the same price). This monitor gives you that and more. Also, I use this monitor for software development, game development (programming + art), watching anime + YouTube + movies, and, of course, a ton of gaming.

A: Yes, it's a bit of an odd setup but it comes with a plate that goes in place of the stand that gives you a standard vesa mount

A: No, it's a VA display. It looks really good, but it's not an IPS.

**Q: Is this a 10bit panel or 8bit?**

### ⭐⭐⭐ Poor Uniformity
*by J***S on December 31, 2018*

I wish I could recommend this monitor, but unfortunately the dirty screen effect is very substantial when panning against any light solid-colored background like a sky or desert floor. Bands run down the left and right center, as if the screen (or backing) had been folded during assembly. This is very problematic for playing open world games which involve a lot of camera panning. Otherwise the black levels and HDR brightness looked decent , and colors popped - Marvel's Spider-man looked excellent at night, but Red Dead Redemption 2 looked terrible due to the uniformity issue, mostly in the day but also at night (in-game). Consumers shouldn't be involved in the quality assurance process - this is very frustrating. Item returned.
