I recently added a couple of puppies that are now about 5 months old and I hate to say they are both terrible barkers/howlers. Any little noise set them off and then that would get the rest going. My sleep was constantly getting interrupted and getting up and trying to correct them didn’t do any good because the minute I’d leave they’d start right back up. I was looking into bark collars but was reluctant to use them and then I found this little gem. The first morning I woke up rested and realized there had been no barking that night. I was sure it was a fluke but it’s been a week now and the dogs are as quiet as can be. Had to turn it up to 3 (neighbours dog a big dog) but I can hear it starting to bark, then going a bit weird and stopping. Dunno if it will ever stop the dog from starting to bark at nothing, but certainly seems to be stopping it from carrying on. As a side effect, because it doesn't bark so often or for so long, there is none of the other dogs in the area going off as well! I'm very happy with this. Great result for good price. It works well on the second setting for our Jack Russell/chihuahua mix (about 3 years old), but needs turned up the the highest setting for our dachshund (almost 10 years old -- maybe he's losing his hearing?) We use it only when the baby is sleeping now bc we discovered it is triggered by him banging his blocks or on his drum.
