Review: Excellent parka, but everybody else is right, order 1 size bigger than you expect! - So, first, sizing: ordering 1 size up, the jacket will fit (almost) perfectly - the arms are a little too long, but the Velcro sleeves easily solve that problem. I own another Helly parka, which is a medium and which is pretty big in the middle. I can wear big heavy sweaters and have plenty of room. With the Dubliner, I followed other reviewers' advice and ordered a large. I can fit a bulky sweater under the large, but there isn't a ton of room, which is fine by me. However, if you want the jacket to fit loosely (like all the people I see walking around in over-sized Canada Goose jackets), then order 2 sizes up, but account for the sleeves being longer. Second, warmth: it feels thin, it doesn't look/feel like it should be as warm as it is, it's not a down jacket, so it's not puffy, but it's also not bulky. I'm currently in buried in frigid, snow-covered Boston (14 degrees Fahrenheit at the moment) and with a good base and middle layer, this jacket is plenty warm. While I wouldn't recommend staying outside for extended periods of time with just a t-shirt underneath, it's not bad for short periods. Third, construction: Fantastic, I've really only ever owned Columbia parkas like this, but this is much nicer. From the zippers and the soft zipper cover thingy at the top of the zipper (no there are no zippers/pockets inside the jacket, not a big deal for me), to the make and detach-ability of the fur and the hood (although I, personally don't like the look of the hood without the fur), no, the fur isn't as nice as the $500 Canada Goose coats, or even some of the Alpha Industries Air Force parkas, but it blocks the wind. Because the coat is longer than I'd expect, which is a fantastically useful feature and helps to keep the rear warm, I do agree with other reviewers that I wish there were a double zipper, but that's minor, in my opinion. Now the big draw for me was that at the time of purchase, desertcart was selling the coat for $90, I think it's back up to $180 now. In all honesty, if I had to pay $180, I may have gone with the Alpha Industries n-3b parka, which I've tried on else where and is a fantastic coat that fit true to size. desertcart did their best with shipping, I happened to order before one of the major blizzards that hit Boston this month, so the USPS delivery was delayed and the USPS wasn't updating their site's status. I got impatient and desertcart was even good enough to create a duplicate order to be overnighted, but once I got home, I saw that the jacket had been delivered, so I'm about to receive a second one tomorrow, for which desertcart is already supplying me a return label. Which is, I believe the very definition of a first-world problem. I don't review everything I purchase on desertcart, but to go on a minor tangent: I do just want to say that Prime has been a fantastic investment. Free shipping is a nice perk, but the TV, movies and most importantly the prime music make it worth the annual fee. And then some.
Review: Great Winter Jacket - I ordered this jacket because I was looking for a longer winter coat. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Fit - It fits as expected. I tried on many Helly Hansen jackets (not this model because it wasn't in any local stores) and all of the mediums fit well, so I ordered a medium. I am 5'11'', 160 lbs, with a broader chest and narrow arms and waste. Fits perfect in terms of length and the chest. There's some extra room for layering which makes this a versatile jacket for layering in colder weather. Quality - Excellent quality. Good zipper, (although a double zipper would be nice for a longer jacket). Removable fur, and removable hood for different weather conditions and looks. The adjustable hood is a great feature. Nice fleece around collar and in pockets. Material and lining is great. Completely wind and water proof, which is essential for keeping warm. Overall, the jacket is lightweight, but still warm. An adjustable waste cord would be nice, but I don't think it will be necessary for me at least. There are no interior pockets, which is somewhat of a design flaw, but there is plenty of storage on the outside for gloves and gadgets. I live in Winnipeg which is notorious for a large range of weather conditions, it can get extremely cold and windy (-30C,-40C). I think this jacket will be great for wearing in different conditions because it can be layered for more warmth, or not to make more breathable. I've developed a good tolerance for the cold, so if you get really cold in the winter you may want to consider a warmer, thicker and heavier down jacket. If you're looking for a long winter jacket that can provide warmth and dryness that can be layered, this will be it. I got this jacket on sale and paid a total of $120 for it. An outstanding deal. Thanks again desertcart.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Would this be warm enough to wear outdoors an work all day**
A: It depends how cold it is. Working, continuously moving it's good down to probably 10 -20 F. Standing around, walking, light duty it's good down to probably 20 F. Below 5-10 F, I wear a down jacket underneath. The best aspects is how effective this coat stops the wind and rain. The fit is definitely on the small side. The faux fur hood accessory is misleading and really only beneficial in a cold wind. I do not use it as I wear a shoulder bag

**Q: Is this a seconds or blemished item? Trying to understand the low price?**
A: No, it's not seconds or with blemishes. I've ordered 2 for my sons and they love it. I'm guessing the low price is because this jacket is not the trend this year.

**Q: Whats the weight of this coat?**
A: Don't know the actual weight but it seems light for how warm it is. I can wear just a t-shirt and this coat down to near-freezing.

**Q: Is the faux fur hood lining removable?**
A: Yes the faux fur lining is detachable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice fit for slimmer builds, stylish, and warm!
*by A***E on December 14, 2017*

My son originally wanted the SVALBARD jacket, which looks almost identical, but the price on this one was more affordable. The other one was rated as a warmer jacket, but this one is still very warm. We live in Canada and deal with frigid temperatures in the winter. My son is not a big guy at 16, and the small fits him perfectly. He loves the cut and it's not to baggy or bulky. The sleeve length is perfect too. If you are heavier set, then you would definitely want to size up. The jacket still leaves plenty of room for layering and is great for city life. Unless you are going hiking in open air space in -30C (who does that for fun anyway?) this jacket is plenty warm enough. I dislike when people rate a jacket as being cold when all they wear is a T-shirt underneath. If you don't dress like a moron in cold weather then most winter jackets should be warm enough. Layering in the winter is key. Keep in mind what activities you will be doing in the jacket. You don't need a ridiculously expensive parka with overkill on the down fill if all you ever do is wait 10-15 minutes for a city bus, go in and out of places, or walk 20 - 30 minutes outside. My son loves the fur on the hood and says it really keeps the wind out. There are plenty of pockets and he said it will be fine for snowboarding, also keeping in mind you work up a sweat doing those sorts of activities. Overall a great jacket. Very versatile.
