They come large and small I don't want to be tricked :-)** A: These are 10 gram box of 1000. The 21 gram come in a box of 500 **Q: I got these for existing trees in my yard, but instructions imply use at time of planting only. How should they be used for routine fertilizing?** A: I normally buy at local garden center in summer but think it's 10 of these tabs for $5. So bought a box in bulk to save. They are good for 2 yrs as far as them releasing the amounts to plants/trees. I put 3 around each existing shrubs/tree/bush. As far as the top greenery/leaves spread out is approx size of roots, place 3 around the outside of the diameter around roots. I think it says 6" down, I coudnt get that far down unless I started digging cause of all the rocks here, I put as far as I could- using bottom of screw driver & hammer to make the holes. It's so much easier than the granular stuff, and they told me it has less salt even than the organic powdered stuff I was using on the azaleas. I'm sharing them with my neighbors, and they are so easy to use. It's hard to tell right away, and I'm using a liquid fertilizer for new plantings, but the nursery said to put a few on each plant and do it a few times a year.
