Spraying it around the perimeter would also be beneficial, but costly as well. A warning about the spray container. I and others have been having problems with the spraying mechanism doing it's job before the liquid is used up, and end up wasting the product. I'm now buying this in bulk and using my own garden sprayer. **Q: Can I use this during the winter? The deer only go after my rhodies and azaleas during the cold-weather months.** A: I use my Liquid Fence during the winter to protect my Knock-out roses, rhodies, azaleas, and pansies. I live in South Carolilna, so your weather patterns might be different. I find that by using the Liquid Fence during the winter, the deer and squirrels by-pass my bushes and plants and, with continued use in the spring, don't nibble on the new, tender buds. Hope this helps. **Q: Does this really work if sprayed only once a month?** A: When first applied, you spray it again one week later. After that it gets applied once a month. It works great for me. My trouble is deer and they really seem to hate it. **Q: Any way to prevent clogging of the sprayer?** A: I have this clogging issue also. Would love to hear more solutions. Tried all kinds of tanks sprayers, and now even use a battery powered one. The product gathers around the suction point in the tank and clogs. I've tried over diluting with water (to make it thinner), and regularly shake the tank to well mix product. I can never get through a full tank without having to clean the suction port to resume flow. In a 2 gal tank I need to do this several times. Never store the product in the tank. Mix a fresh batch for every application.
