The references, the writing, and especially the photographs feel old. It's a bit disorganized and choppy, so you will have to go through the entire book, picking up pieces here and there, before you have a complete picture of a room and what to do with it. And as some other reviewers have pointed out, it is very westernized - which makes the idea of using bamboo flutes on a heavy wooden ceiling beam feel awkward and out of place.
