Very convenient for storage and arriving at a job site with everything you will need. **Q: Can this be used as a buffer, polisher for metals like brass, stainless steel etc?** A: 25,000 rpm is not a good speed for polishing. Most polishing equipment runs much slower, for brass 3000 to 6000 rpm is mentioned. Surface speed is the important metric, diameter of polishing tool plus RPM determines surface speed. 7,500 feet/minute is a good starting point. Variable speed is definitely a needed option for polishing various materials as the optimum speed changes depending on the polishing compound and the material to polish. Bottom line - this tool is not a polisher **Q: Could I use this to take rust off the underbody of a car?** A: Yes you could do. I use mine to grind down synthetic porcelain on insulators that I have just repaired at electrical power stations.
