The original picture is a little hard to judge because the Asian model is built differently than I am so it looks perfect on him (model... obviously lol) but I admit it felt a little odd for me to be wearing an arrival of clothing so outside of the cultural norm for America. Looks great on the model but not so much me lol I felt i looked out of place. That being said, the material was so much better than I expected... the quality is excellent. (Anyone wondering about this style, be aware if you want a jacket that looks perfectly lined up like the photo, buy a different color. The print on this color can't possibly make hundreds of perfectly aligned garments without extreme excessive fabric waste.)That being said, the fabric appears to be a loosely woven linen or linen blend. It has a nice weight and drapes beautifully! I lost a lot of weight from my purchase date and it looked nice on me fat and still looks great after the weight loss. (I'm 5'3, female, and the long bits on the jacket reach around mid calf on me. The back of the jacket covers my behind. Sitting down doesn't often cause me to sit on the jacket bottom, but individuals will probably have different results.You can clearly see space between the threads upon close inspection of the fabric, so if you're expecting something like a tightly woven quilting cotton you might be disappointed. It's really soft, and has amazing drape. It's really comfortable in warmer weather especially as a light cover up for mildly chilly places.I got this for myself to be a take on a 70's- 80's trench-like jacket you see in music videos as an attempt at some humor originally. The sleeves are a great length if you play guitar or whatever. Mine doesn't get in the way playing ukulele. I ended up just adding this to my wardrobe for regular wear. I never used it as a joke. It's really nice. Like others have said, it gets lots of compliments because it's unusual, I think. I've had a few uncomfortable moments when people followed me around in a store staring at me trying to appear they weren't, until I started a conversation with them, and it turned out they were curious about this jacket but were uncomfortable approaching me to ask.I would give these a shot if you like the way it looks in the picture. They do get attention though! (especially the unbalanced print I got!)
