Review: The most convenient Phone mount in existance - lifted 2012 GMC sierra 3500HD Denali - mounted on top center of dash. Owning a lifted truck you get used to bouncing all over the place and having a less than smooth ride. Never once has my phone came off the magnetic mount nor has the 3M tape ever failed. This is one of the few products that i didnt realize how much i needed it until i finally broke down and bought one. Theyre simple but yet worth every penny. I would say be very confident where you want this thing because when you place that 3m tape its not gonna move without significant force or chemicals to loosen the adhesive. Mounting the phone is such a reflex now. as sonn as i sit down I just basically almost toss my phone to the mount and it sticks to the mount. to take off you basically just twist your phone and it pops right off. the actual phone mount is very unintrusive and doesnt get hung up in my pocket. I honestly forget its even attached to my phone sometimes. The magnets are very strong so be careful not to get micro magnets stuck to it from dropping your phone in the dirt. Extra benefit is you can now stick your phone to any magnetic/metal surface which has come in handy for taking photos and using my phones flashlight. stop thinking about it and ditch your old phone mount.

**Q: Magnets. How do they work?**
A: If you are asking how magnetism works, no one *really* knows. There are some theories which are well-supported by evidence, but they don't fully explain the phenomena. It's in the same category as gravity in that sense. The answer from April 2017 by Michael is entirely wrong; no scientist anywhere thinks that magnets themselves work based on anything to do with the north and south poles, as magnets work in the vacuum of space, far from those poles. I suppose there *could* be a connection with the N&S poles in terms of what causes certain materials on Earth to BE magnetic, but they operate independently of the N&S poles, regardless of their magnetic property's origin.

**Q: does the strong magnetic field generated by the magnet interfere with the iphone internal compass? can the steelie permanently damage the iphone?**
A: They claim it will not damage the iPhone, I haven't used it long term though.  As far as the compass, my compass never worked inside the vehicle BEFORE I bought the Steelie.  Sometimes my iPhone 7 compass would be a full 45° to 90° off inside the truck.

**Q: Has anyone used this on a motorcycle, cell phone mounts I have seen on motorcycles are big and not very attractive**
A: I have not used it on a motorcycle but I have put it on the side of my car while loading my bike on the roof rack & kinda forgot it. when I got home my phone was right where I left it on the outside of my car (despite freeway speeds of up to 80mph for just more than an hour). I'm pretty happy with this. (I have the iphone5)

No need to purchase any other phone mount. This is by far is the best dashboard phone mount that I have ever purchased. The magnet is so powerful and the phone never slips off. The magnetic ball easily mounts to the car dash and can be placed is any location. The magnet holds so well, you can easily turn the phone in any direction at any time. The small magnet that is placed on the back of your phone is super strong too. When in the house, I often put my phone on my refrigerator so I can easily find my phone. I have purchased so many phone mounts but this one is the best ever and I will never try any other brand. This will be my perfect trading gift at Christmas.
