The necklace itself is not long - it goes just below my neck bone area. The silver on the chain is very bright and the chain is sturdy and of a nice weight. The pendant is large with delicate silver work. The silver is very shiny due to the fact that it is coated with rhodium. I actually prefer my silver to be duller but this is just my personal preference. The silver work has some obvious welding joints and is quite thin in some places. The stone is large and has adequate luster. I have other moonstones that are more clear and contain more luster than this one but this stone is larger and looks nice nestled in the silver work. I would recommend this item if you are buying it for someone who likes unique pieces and likes moonstones.
