They are compatible with the Drinkmate machine. **Q: How do you know when the drinkmate cartridge is empty? just nothing happens in the bottle?** A: when it is near empty, you can tell the the string of CO2 injection into beverage is weak and may not be able to reach the middle. Like propane tank, you may remove it from its connection and shake it, this gives you a few more bottles. **Q: Is the back of the unit holding the CO2 supposed to be loose?
