The photos do not begin to convey how beautiful this brooch is! I was hesitant to order this, but am so glad I did. It is now part of my winter ensemble - sitting at the collar of my black cashmere-blend swing coat - to provide tasteful shine and sparkle. 2.36" by 2.36" is just right, not too big nor too small. At the center it is 0.75" thick. This brooch is made with various sizes of round brilliant cut crystals arranged into flowers and leaves. The metal at the back is smooth and in fact the brooch is smooth on the surface in front as well. This is very important because I wear a delicate open-weave scarf and would hate to damage the scarf if it were snagged by the brooch. This pretty brooch is well-made and looks like it costs much more than what I actually paid. I've received many compliments.Oh BTW, there is also a loop on the back so that it can be worn as a pendant. I wouldn't, myself, since IMHO it is too big, and heavy, as a pendant.

Item arrived very quickly and beautifully packaged. This brooch is so much more beautiful in person. Pictures do not do it justice, so pardon how dark these images are that I posted. It sparkles and shines without looking cheap or gaudy. It's a faceted, rainbow sparkle and not a flat glass-like sparkle. I purchased this to dress up an outfit for an upcoming wedding. It took my dress from looking "meh" to "wow". It is a solid piece, however my sole complaint about the brooch is the clasp for the pin. It is a rotating clasp which in not uncommon for these types of pieces, but the clasp on my piece is very loose and rotates too easily. It's a minor issue but may cause the piece to dislodge itself from whatever it's attached to. I will just have to do a minor tweak to correct it. It's not enough to detract me from using it again and again.
