It comes setup for 120 volts but can run on either. **Q: can this be hooked to city water** A: Yes, you can connect pump to tap by hose for water inlet, then another hose for outlet irrigation or other application. You need to turn off the pump when you close the tap **Q: Can this pump be mounted upside down or on it's side (or even with the inlet pointing down or does that break the prime?** A: I believe you can place it any direction you like once you've primed it. Alternatively you could mount upside down then rotate the cover 180degrees to make future priming easier... I've not mounted it this way but I have removed the cover and the bolt pattern seems symmetrical to allow you to change the outlet direction if desired... **Q: I have great water pressure from my outside bib but lousy water flow due to pipe configurations. Will this increase the water flow when attached?** A: I'm no expert but this pump only works while the water is free flowing, it is not ment to add pressure to an existing system and will cut out if the water flow is shut off. You need a pump with a pressure switch and a bladder tank in order to add pressure to an existing system.
