Contact cement works well at bonding a lot materials while remaining flexible, which makes it great at bonding rubbers, plastics and vinyl. It takes a little getting used to due to the application being an apply to both things, dry a while and then press together. It is all about the right texture and the wait always makes me feel like I am waiting too long, but the instant cementing happens when you wait long enough for the magic to happen. I've tried every spray on contact cement out there, and all of them pale in comparison to this stuff. Use it as directed and it's about as close to "professional grade" that you'll find. All of the repairs have result in "factory new" (and often better- given that I was repairing factory jobs) performance and durability. Buy a small bag of cheap disposable shop brushes, and you'll be all set for your next upholstery, shoe repair, etc. project.
