The color is true black, the length is perfect and the fit around my chest ( size 42D) and shoulder areas are nice too. It will be comfortable working in it. I have broad shoulders and sometimes the fit around my chest is too tight or doesn't hang right in the front, but this style does. It comes together perfectly in the front..it doesn't over lap and there's no gap where it's too small. It's very flattering too. Has a straight look to it. I'm going to order a few more in hopes that they all fit the same. I'm 5ft 4in tall and take an XL or XXL ( or 1X). I ordered an XXL.
