Even with a knife, it's extremely hard to cut into pieces?** A: You use the knife or pick to chip away small chunks just like you would ice and pieces should be about as big as the 1st knuckle on your pinkie or 3 grams. I'm using about 1 and a half teaspoons per cup and you can steep up to 3 times. Easiest way for me to break it up was to put it in a large ziplock and wrap in a towel. I then got a small hammer and crushed up the biggest pieces. It's not pretty but it works. It will look like coffee and I just measure with teaspoon.
