The sleeves are contoured for bent arms, the pads, while hard to get in (and you'll forget how by the time you need to do it again), stay in place. these are pads, not hard ABS protectors, so keep that in mind also. This jacket offers great protection while riding, probably won't save your life if you are in a situation that would end it anyway, but in a small tumble, you'll be thankful for the padding. I got this in a double XL hoping to be able to fit my body armor under it, but while the jacket is large on me, it does not have the space inside to wear my body armor.
