I know some reviewers have said that Barbie is not a good example for young girls, and that Joan's body type is not properly represented here. I have to say that this line of Barbie dolls is not a toy meant for kids--It is a collector's doll for grown-ups. Also, Joan DOES have a thicker, curvier body which sets her apart from other Barbies--In the Barbie would, this IS Joan. The designers of this doll should be congratulated on the incredible attention to detail that was put into this doll. Joan is perfect! From her extra curvy body (her foundation garments are padded to create an extra curvy silhouette)to her fabulous outfit and hairstyle---she even has her signature gold pen on a chain--no detail was left out! My favorite thing about this doll is that the Mad Men line of dolls uses the more Retro style Silkstone Barbies, which works so well with the 1960's Mad Men theme. This doll is well worth the price tag.
