It seems to be of genuinely good quality and isn't sheer. It does run small, and I needed a 2XL when I'm usually an XL. As with most clothes, the makers thing everyone gets longer as they get bigger around, so I had to roll the sleeves, but it was fine. The fabric feels slightly rough and crinkly to the touch initially, but I think tha is appropriate for this type of garment and I did not notice it once the short was on. Overall, I would recommend. If unsure on size, size up. And don't use a tide pen on it!!! I did, and the large yellow stains from the pen are way more noticeable than the small splash stains would've been untreated. Stains do seem to be fading with repeated oxyclean treatment and careful hand washing.
