Well feels like some sort of rubber but makes lifting the kettle easy and handle doesn't get hot. Handle same colour as base of kettle. **Q: What is cold sides means** A: I presume it means you can touch the sides when boiled without hurting yourself, but I don’t really know. Common sense says don’t touch a hot kettle! **Q: Is this kettle fitted with a BS plug, some have said not.** A: The one we were sent had a continental style plug. Would have needed an adapter. Shame as we loved it but it had to go back x **Q: Is this green the same as the green ariete vintage 155 g retro 2 slice toaster?** A: I would think it would be.
