We used a footrest from an IKEA chair as a step for him for a couple of years, but he was having trouble with that arrangement, and we got him these steps.The steps were very easy to assemble and they are the perfect height for our bed. We tried setting it up as a ramp first, but the angle was too steep for him and he could not get enough traction to climb it. As steps, however, they worked perfectly and he can now easily walk up and down to the bed on his own.One day, I accidentally sat on the top step, and since I weigh significantly more than the limit, I ended up breaking the top step. Fortunately, the design is sufficiently simple and robust that I was able to repair it very easily and return it to service, where it continues its duty.In addition to its simplicity and robustness, it does not stick too far into the room from the bed, the way a ramp would. I put them together myself, my husband who is a construction worker was very impressed. Everything is labeled so it was easy to follow the instructions and put it together. I have had to send steps back in the past because my dog is afraid of them and she is accustomed to jumping off and on a bed in the spare room to look out of the window. These fold up nicely and can slide under the bed. Real nice, real happy with them and, more importantly, so is my dog!. ps - my husband tried to step on one of the steps on almost broke it - so only use for the dog (or cat). Looks nicer in person than in the picture. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars This Pawland Pet Stairs is Very Sturdy with Beautiful Craftsmanship *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2018* PROS: This Portable Folding Pet Stairs is an absolutely beautiful piece of furniture with beautiful craftsmanship that will look great in any room including your bedroom. It is very, very sturdy and has a weight restriction of 80 lbs. In addition, the height of the steps and the incline on the ramp are just right for any size animal and IS NOT overly steep like other ramps on the market. Another great feature of the Pet Stairs is that it folds down very nicely for storage, travel, etc. Don't be discouraged by the description that says EASILY ASSEMBLED because you only need to assemble the "legs on the front and back of the ramp. You will need a screwdriver for this step and although the instructions say 30 minutes ... it took me an hour. My suggestion is that Pawland wouldl ship the Pet Stairs "COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED" because there are so many reasons why customers may not be able to do even a simply assembly of adding the legs to the ramps. I haven't seen anything on the web as sturdy as the PAWLAND PET STAIRS with such a great incline and even though I had a couple of problems, I wanted to make it work.CONS: The height of the ramp is 19.5" but this is only true if you are using the steps. When you convert to a ramp . . . only the tip of the board is 19.5" and the portion that your pet would use is about 15". I have a new mattress that is 18" so my bed is 26" from the floor. Because the Pet Stairs was too low, I went to the big box lumber store and purchased a 4x4x8 piece of lumber and had it cut into two pieces that were 19.5" long. I place one underneath the legs of the front and the rear of the ramp. In this way, I increased the height of the Pet Stairs from 19.5" to 23.5".
