It will just chew up the chop if you keep turning. Doesn’t pull the chop into it by itself. I had to push the chop down hard into it while I turned. 2nd try I did like other said and tried it with the meat partially frozen. This did work a lot better and I did at times still had to push the meat down into it while turning the handle. I do wish there was some way to adjust how much it Pierce into the meat. So your cuts can remain thicker. Also it did instantly start to show so rust marks when I washed it. Instead of sending it back I tapped the hole for a larger bolt and attached the handle.
