It feels smooth, but I think a warm water wash will make it feel less slippery, and more "grippy". One thing I find to be a minor issue, is that the opening nearest the volume button is a tad too close, and makes it harder to increase the volume, made easier with me using the edge of my fingernail to increase the sound level. I might try using a single edge razor blade to customize this opening, making it more user friendly. All in all, it is an excellent product, offering great protection from falling on hardwood floors, preventing the battery cover from popping open and losing the batteries. I would have given 5 stars but there is a design flaw. This covers the last 2 button of remote control so opening should be bigger. I had to cut open the place for 2 buttons and it is working good. As some others noted looks like they stopped making them with the separate cutout for the volume/channel buttons. This allows the buttons to work better, so it's a good change.
